MoFA 12" x 12" exhibit

The Arts Council of Southeast Missouri hosted an exhibit featuring works by members of the Missouri Fiber Artists. The Missouri Fiber Artists are makers, creators and artists whose work primarily features natural or synthetic fibers, including textiles, fabrics, paper, reed, yarn, thread, and more. Through the organization they unite as a community that shares a love of fiber. Their work often is intended to evoke meaning that goes beyond the materials.

My 12" x 12" piece, "A Crow Knows No Boundaries," (SOLD) features a crow flying over a topography map in a flight of freedom. The crow is made of black paper and placed over a twice repurposed Boundary Waters topography map and brown wrapping paper. After serving it's exploration service, the map was used as gift wrap before it became the backdrop for the crow's flight of freedom, uninhibited by boundaries.
